Cop Does Something Shocking For Homeless Man (Video)
January 18, 2017 by Sean Kelly
A Greenville, South Carolina, Deputy garnered praise when he did something amazing for a homeless man (video below).
Deputy Matt Holman spotted Robert Morris, a homeless man, walking down the road when he decided to talk to him.

“He was not the person I was looking for so this was just a casual encounter,” Holman told WHNS. Morris explained to Holman that he was homeless and depressed, and had lost his parents, as well as his sister. He also admitted to Holman that he was addicted to drugs and alcohol.
“I tried to get him a shelter, they were all full — I knew I was going to buy him some food when he told me that he was hungry,” Holman said.

After the two shared a meal, which included a conversation about Christianity, Morris became hopeful.
“If you’re still breathing, God is not done with you,” Holman told him.
Months later, Morris called 911 to share something shocking that happened after their meal so many months earlier.
“My name is Robert Morris and I was stopped by a deputy,” he told the dispatcher.
“At that time in my life I was really messed up on drugs and alcohol,” he said. “We sat down and had a long talk and he was one of the nicest people I’ve ever met in my whole life.”
Morris revealed that Holman gave him his own personal Bible from the trunk of his police car.
“He opened the trunk back up and he gave me his personal Bible,” he said. “That man’s a hero and he saved my life.”
Holman said he was happy to give up his personal Bible for Morris. “I was really attached to this Bible,” he said. “But I would tell deputies, if they’re believers, be confident that if you feel like the presence of God is with you and telling you to speak with someone you should do it, be a witness, be obedient.” The story quickly went viral, with many praising Holman for his selfless and generous gift to Morris. “The fact that he gave his personal bible, touched my heart.
All that we have that bible that we love, because we have all our notes and we study God’s word on that special one, we know the meaning of having to give it away. He did the right thing,” one reader commented on Little Things’ Facebook page. “See, it’s stories like this you hardly hear of. Police officers do so much good behind the scenes that goes unnoticed. The officers themselves never boast of doing good; they are our unsung heroes. Blue lives matter, too. Way to go officer. May God bless you ten-fold for your heart,” another added.
