Celebrity power couple Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher are parting ways after over two decades together.

“In what feels like the end of a marathon tennis match, we’re finally hanging up our racquets. In 2023, we both made the difficult decision to file for divorce,” they revealed in heartfelt statements shared on their Instagram Stories on April 5.

Known for their commitment to privacy, the couple expressed gratitude for the public’s understanding during this challenging time. “Privacy has always been paramount for us, and as we navigate this transition, we ask for your continued respect for our family’s privacy,” they emphasized.

The couple, who married on March 15, 2010, and have since welcomed three children together, initially crossed paths at a glamorous gathering in Sydney, Australia, in 2001. Long before their rise to fame with blockbuster hits like “Borat” and “Wedding Crashers,” they found common ground in their shared sense of humor.

“Isla was a riot. We were at this super fancy party, and we hit it off by poking fun at the other guests,” Baron Cohen reminisced in a 2020 interview with The New York Times. “I just knew right away. Not sure if she did.”

Their whirlwind romance led to an engagement in 2004 and the arrival of their first child three years later, marking the beginning of their journey into parenthood.

Fisher has previously reflected on the importance of maintaining privacy in their relationship. While she’s unsure if it was the secret to their marriage’s success, she values the intimacy it provided.

“It’s a bit nerve-wracking to talk about because I feel that by keeping our relationship out of the public eye and not discussing our marriage publicly, it has remained something sacred and special,” she shared with The Australian Women’s Weekly. “But sharing a mutual sense of humor in life’s ups and downs will always strengthen our connection. And honestly, some things are just nice to keep to ourselves.”

As they move forward separately, Baron Cohen and Fisher remain committed to co-parenting their children and providing them with unwavering love and support. Though their romantic journey has come to an end, their shared history and dedication to their family continue to bind them together.

In the midst of this transition, they express gratitude for the outpouring of support from fans and followers, urging for continued understanding and respect for their privacy during this sensitive time.

As they embark on new chapters individually, Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher are grateful for the love and support they’ve received and look forward to the future with optimism and resilience.
