Mother Comes Home To Blood-Covered Girl After What Her ‘Father’ Did To Her

An North Carolina man was arrested and charged with raping a 7-year-old girl who believed he was her father, causing her to need surgery for her injuries.

Brentley Jason Byers was charged with statutory rape of a child by an adult after reportedly raping the girl, whose siblings are his biological children.

The mother told police that she left the home around 7 a.m. on July 21 and returned home on the following day at around 1 p.m.

“When she arrived home, she found the victim sitting in chair in the living room with blood on her and the suspect was on the couch asleep,” Sheriff Darren Campbell said in a press release, the Charlotte Observer reported.

“The victim told her mother that Brentley Jason Byers, the person she refers to as her father, did this to her. The victim told her mother that she had been sexually assaulted.”

Some of the evidence collected at the scene included clothing found in the washing machine.

Byers was reportedly left alone with the four children who lived in the home, though another family member allegedly came to the home on July 21 and picked up two of them.

“Indications were that the crime occurred during the night when only two small children and the suspect were in the home,” authorities stated.

Bond for Byers was set at $1 million, and additional charges against him were pending.

Many readers called for Byers to be charged more severely.

“Everyone says prison. There should be an open hunting season on sexual predators. Like hunting deer you should get tags and be able to kill so many per year, legally. Until they become extent,” one Mad World News reader commented on the site’s Facebook page.

“Statutory rape? I thought statutory rape meant tat the minor consented but because they are a minor the rapist is still charged? How on earth did this baby consent. He should get the death penalty but once he is in prison maybe he will,” another wrote.

Others questioned the mother’s judgment regarding her decision to leave Byers alone with her child.

“What is with these mothers? Do they really know anything about the men they are leaving their children with? If a mother is paying attention, she will be able to see that there will be a problem just by watching the interaction between the boyfriend and her child. Been there and know this to be a fact. Find a baby sitter, not some out of work idiot male,” one reader commented.
