Watch: Every Police Officer Needs To See What This Pack Of Cigarettes Actually Is

A traffic stop in Georgia took a surprising turn when officers discovered what a suspect was hiding in plain sight (video below).

The Kennesaw Police Department in Georgia shared a video of what they found in the possession of a suspect during an ordinary traffic stop.

Officers pulled over a driver for an unspecified reason. The driver continuously asked an officer if he could smoke a cigarette during the stop, despite being told he could not, and the officer became suspicious.

The officer got a closer look and noticed something shocking — the suspect’s pack of cigarettes was actually a weapon in disguise.

According to Mad World News, the pack of cigarettes was, in fact, a functional stun gun.

The police department shared a video demonstrating the weapon as a warning to other officers and as a way to show the public why officers can never be too careful.

“This item was found in a vehicle during a traffic stop,” The Kennesaw Police Department wrote on its Facebook page. “While the officer was speaking to the driver outside of the car, the driver repeatedly asked to have a smoke which was located inside the vehicle. The answer was no. In the end, the only ‘smokes’ found was the item in the video. You would be surprised at the type of weapons that have been made to look like ‘normal items.'”

The department continued, “So, forgive us when we seem to act ‘too rigid’ and ‘mean’ when we say no to your request to ‘smoke’ or ‘make a phone call’ with your phone, etc… We’re just trying to make it home at the end of our shifts like everyone else out here. Stay safe, everyone- its another beautiful day in Kennesaw!”

Viewers shared their thoughts in the comment section on the police department’s post.

“People would be amazed if they could be shown only a fraction of what is available for people to harm an officer,” one viewer commented. “Most will only speak from the sidelines while a few will brave the daily battle where the weapons which are intended for our harm are often unknown…yet met with professional conduct and care 99% of the time. Keep up the good fight for the innocent my brother. And thanks for the heads up!”

“A big ‘Thank You’ to all of our police officers in every state for protecting us,” another user wrote. “I want all of you to go home safe to your families at the end of your shift. Our police officers are human just like all of us and they have a job to do which is very dangerous. When you are stopped by an officer, obey the laws and do what the officer asks you to do and you will have no problem.”
