3 South Carolina Men Try To Rape Young College Girl, Then…
A Columbia, South Carolina, college student detailed how she was able to escape a kidnapping — at the hands of three young men involved in a series of crimes in the area.
Jordan Dinsmore was just one of many affected by three African-American men who reportedly targeted their victims based on their race.
“This was a crime spree. They would not have stopped,” Sheriff Leon Lott told WYFF. “They made a statement that they did not like white people and they were only going to rob white people.”
One of the victims was African-American, and was freed from the would-be kidnappers after they realized her race.
“Investigators discovered that the suspects began targeting delivery drivers by committing armed robberies. The crimes then escalated to carjacking and kidnapping victims,” Lott said.
Dinsmore told The State that she was walking in the parking lot of her apartment complex when the three suspects emerged from the trees and pushed her to the ground. They threatened her at gunpoint and then forced her into the back of her car. They quickly realized that she drove a stick shift, and struggled to operate the vehicle. One of the suspects decided to flee, but the other two forced Dinsmore to drive them to a nearby ATM.
“I was pleading with them to just take my stuff and let me go, but they said that I had to come with them,” she said. The men threatened to shoot her if she screamed or tried to get help. While at the ATM, Dinsmore withdrew $300 and pleaded with the men to let her go. They refused and instead forced her to keep driving. It was then that she decided to escape.
During the drive, one of the suspects informed her that they were going to a relative’s house, where she would be raped.
“I was thinking somehow I have to get out of this,” she said. “Can I crash the car? No, because it might knock me out and not them. Can I pull over or something? I have to get away from them.”
One of the men instructed her to take a right, but she purposely ignored the direction. She then put the car in neutral as she drove through the intersection and then jumped out of the car while it was traveling at 35 mph.
After the terrifying attack, Dinsmore said she’s grateful that the men didn’t know how to drive a stick.
Many readers applauded the young woman for her quick thinking.
“I admire this young woman very much. Parents teach your daughters how to take care of themselves. This kind of thing is not going to go away. Remember their reason for doing this. They hate white people,” one Mad World News reader commented on the site’s Facebook page.
“She was smart — didnt panic and did what she had to do — hope these dirtbags do some serious time,” another added.
