Naked Teen Running Around In Street Sends Cops To Unbelievable Scene

A Missouri couple has been arrested after their autistic son was found wandering in the street, naked.

Chillicothe Police responded to reports of a naked young man running down the street at about 7:30 a.m., according to WDAF. Officers say they recognized the teenage boy, who they say has autism.

“It was 48 degrees early in the morning and we have a child running in the street,” said Chillicothe Police Officer Joshua Miller.

The boy has a history of leaving the family’s home on his own, according to the New York Daily News.

“We took him back to his family’s home because in the last year we’ve found him in similar situations at the family’s previous address and now on Sunday he was unsupervised again,” Miller said.

When officers returned to the family’s home with the child, they found the boy’s parents asleep in the basement. They were unaware their son had gotten out of the house.

Police suspected the boy’s parents are meth users. Several days later, after receiving a tip there may be drug activity at the home, police searched the home.

“We found methamphetamine and meth-using materials inside the home,” Miller said. “It’s hard to say exactly what the parents were doing, but we knew because of the fact that the autistic child has wondered off at least eight times in the past and almost got hit by cars on the highway, we had to get the state involved because we’re concerned about the boy’s safety.”

The boy’s parents, 45-year-old Daniel Schliessman and 36-year-old Michelle Schliessman were arrested for possession of methamphetamine and endangering the welfare of a child.

The couple has four children, ages 14, 13, 11 and 6. All four children were placed in protective custody following the couple’s arrest. It appeared that none of the children had bathed for quite some time.

Officers say that the inside of the family’s home was covered in dog feces, cat feces and animal vomit. The family’s dog and cat were taken into custody as well.

Neighbor Ashley Bosley recalled seeing the parents get arrested.

“I saw them get arrested,” said Bosley. “I had no idea that their son was running around naked. I do know that about two days before that incident their daughter came over to my home barefooted and she had bug bites on her arms and blisters on her feet. It was terrible. It’s just crazy to me and I think those kids are now better off where they are, honestly.”

Miller called the incident “very deplorable.”

“When we went through the residence, we found animal feces and also animal vomit throughout the floors of the house, including the kids’ bedrooms,” the officer said.
