‘Should’ve Ordered A Salad’: McDonald’s Customer Shamed By Employee (Photos)
A Tulsa, Oklahoma, McDonald’s restaurant faced backlash after a woman allegedly received a note written on her cheeseburger, fat-shaming her.
The woman’s friend, Jessica Johnson, wrote a Facebook post that showed the note on the cheeseburger written in black marker, which read, “Should of ordered a salad fat ass,” Inquisitr reported.
The workers laughed at the woman through the drive-thru window, according to the woman’s post:
This happened to a friend of mine at 15th and Peoria yesterday. All of the employees came to the window to point and laugh at her. Are you f***ing joking? I have a s***** sense of humor and I’m a d*** most of the time, but even I know this isn’t ok. This is insane to me. People really honestly act like this?
Johnson also left the phone number of the branch store and encouraged others to contact the McDonald’s.
The friend’s social media post quickly went viral at the time is was posted in July 2015, according to Inquisitr.
Some people even contacted the Tulsa McDonald’s after seeing the post, with one woman saying that emailed the supervisor about the incident. The supervisor then allegedly asked the employee in question about the note.
“Thank you for sending me that pic,” the manager wrote to the woman who inquired about the note, according to Inquisitr.
“I [checked] the hand writing and it doesn’t match anything she has written in the past, and I don’t know how they got her last name, when someone calls we give out our first names but never our last names. I will keep investigating.”
Back in January, another McDonald’s in Shoreham, Sussex, U.K., was criticized for fat-shaming a 16-year-old for ordering six cheeseburgers and four portions of fries for herself and her three siblings, according to Yahoo News.
The teen said the cashier ridiculed her, telling another employee: “Six cheeseburgers. I’m not joking this time. This fat woman wants six burgers.” The comment reportedly reduced the 16-year-old to tears, and she left the establishment embarrassed.
