Bartender’s Gesture Towards Fallen Vet Goes Viral

A Washington state bartender took to Facebook to share the remarkable story of what happened when he defied his state’s liquor laws to honor a fallen soldier in an incredibly special way.

Brian Avey took to Facebook to share the story of the female soldier who came into the Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant where he worked to order a beer.

“A Military Woman came into my work today for Lunch, she ordered a Blue Moon and a Corona, I told her she could only do one beer at a time, She said the Corona was for her brother who died in Iraq and I won’t be drinking it,” Avey explained in his post.

Avey decided to go against the state’s law permitting one beer purchase at a time and give her the Corona. She didn’t drink it, and rather placed it next to her and let it sit throughout her entire meal untouched.

“When I brought her bill I told her Buffalo Wild Wings will be buying that beer… This is what she wrote on her credit card slip,” he wrote. What happened next garnered praise and applause from people across the Internet.

“After she left, I didn’t have the heart to dump the beer out and throw it away, so I put it on top of the cooler next the American Flag… When I showed my boss his response was Amazing… He said ‘That’s Fine, just do me a favor, put a fresh Lime in it Every Morning,'” the bartender’s post concluded.

The woman left a note along with her bill that thanked Avey for his act of kindness.

The amazing gesture quickly went viral, with many praising Avey for honoring the soldier and his sacrifice.

“Thank you to a restaurant that honors our heroes. I will head to BWW again soon,” one Mad World News reader commented on the site’s Facebook page.

“Thank you to the staff that actually appreciate what our soldiers do for us,” another added.

“Great gesture. There is still a lot of people in this country that believes they should never be forgotten,” another reader wrote.

Others pointed out the restaurant’s typically anti-Second Amendment and liberal bias, and thanked them regardless for honoring the veteran.

“Intresting since BWW is a Democrat company, this is why they only serve Pepsi products.Could this be the beginning of burying the hatchet? I will once again start going back to BWW if this is the case. Many thanks to the manager, Well Done,” one reader commented.
