Palestinian Woman Stabs Israeli Guard (Video)

AmericaNow Staff  ·  February 21, 2017

A Palestinian woman approached a security guard in Israel to ask a seemingly innocent question, but she quickly revealed more sinister intentions. The incident was caught by a surveillance camera (video below).

The surveillance footage shows a woman holding a large purse approach a security guard. She stops the guard to ask a question and speaks to him for a moment. She slowly begins to reach into her bag and pulls out a knife. When the guard is looking down, she lunges at him with the knife.

According to the Times of Israel, the incident took place at the entrance to the city of Beitar Illit.

The attacker has since been identified as a 22-year-old Palestinian woman named Halawa Alian. The security guard was moderately injured in the attack, but was able to fire a shot at Alian. It is not clear whether she survived the shooting.

Both Alian and the guard were rushed to the hospital after emergency responders arrived at the scene.

When police arrived, Alian was told to remain laying on the sidewalk until a team could confirm that she was not wearing an explosive device.

The wounded security guard was treated by medics from the Ichud Hatzalah rescue service. IDF personnel and police responded to the scene following the incident.

The guard spoke to the Jerusalem Post about the incident.

“When she came closer she gave me a Palestinian identity card,” the guard recalled. “When I looked at it, there weren’t any permits. She spoke with me only in Arabic. I told her, ‘You don’t have the authorization to come in.’ As I was speaking with her, she put her hand in her bag. I asked her, ‘Why are you doing that, what do you have there.’ As I was asking these questions she took out a knife and stabbed me, a bit, it was more like a scratch. I was able to distance myself, take out my gun, shoot and neutralize her.”

He continued, “Thank God it ended this way, with just a scratch. I feel like I was given my life today as a gift.”

The guard says that the attack took place on his 33rd birthday.

According to the Times of Israel, less than two hours prior to the stabbing, a Palestinian driver rammed a car into a crowd in the West Bank, seriously injuring two and lightly injuring two others.
