Gospel singers broke out in song at a convention center in Texas, where thousands were seeking shelter after being evacuated from their homes during Hurricane Harvey. The touching moment was recorded (video below).

Victoria White was joined by Marquist Taylor and several others as she sang to evacuees at the Lone Star Expo Center in Conroe, Texas, which is north of Houston, according to the Daily Mail.

Flooding in the area from Hurricane Harvey forced tens of thousands to evacuate their homes. A number of locations, including convention centers, places of worship and furniture stores, opened their doors to let in anybody seeking shelter after leaving their homes during the storm.

Volunteer Joni Villemez-Comeaux filmed as White led a group in song at the Conroe convention center. The post was shared on Facebook, where it quickly went viral.

“This woman’s powerful voice, singing praise, lifted the Spirit of all within earshot,” she wrote in a post about White’s performance.

She continued, “Hard to believe but close to a million people have already viewed this beautiful soul spreading her gift. You’re such a blessing.”

Viewers were touched by the clip and shared their thoughts on Villemez-Comeaux’s post.

“This is awesome,” one viewer commented. “Even though these people have been through a life changing situation they are pressing through . You see God never changes he’s the same yesterday , today and forever. Every circumstance in life we go through is to bring us closer to the King who loves and care for us. This is just a season and it too shall pass. Praise God !”

“In the flesh, God coming through the despair and praised by our sisters and brother,” another user wrote. “God bless all of you, may he grant you strength and provide more than you had before. You are in our hearts and prayers, sending hugs. P.S. what an amazing voice she has.”

“To me, it’s quite simple . . . Faith, God’s spirit, and sweet Jesus are the love and compassion within our own hearts and souls,” another user wrote. “For many, the ‘book’ is their guide. But for me, the real test of one’s faith, or my preference . . . spirituality, is how one’s own heart and soul guides you. None of the words matter if not applied. Actions are all that matter. That which I am witnessing during this catastrophe has brought me hope. Trials and tribulations such as this, show the true character of our society. What we really need to practice as a humanity? Displaying this same love, compassion, and strength on a daily basis. We are all one. We are all comprised of the same matter as the heavens.”
