Waffle House Security Guard Does Something Amazing (Video)

AmericaNow Staff  ·  March 6, 2017

A security guard at a Clayton County, Georgia, Waffle House restaurant went above and beyond to help a near-homeless man and his 8-year-old son (video below).

LaMont Hammond, a 37-year-old single father who worked at a fast food restaurant and struggled to provide for himself and his son Monty, was distraught when he realized that his irregular work hours recently made it impossible for him to afford a hotel room for himself and his son any longer.

Not sure what to do, he took his son to a nearby Waffle House for a meal and some time to think. Though he had almost no money and no family or friends to turn to, he put his son’s well being first and got him a meal.

“I really was about to cry, but I was trying to be strong for my son,” he said, Newsiosity reported.

While inside the restaurant, security guard Amen Webster approached him to see if the desperate-looking father was okay. Webster, who used to be homeless, could tell that Hammond was in a difficult place and initiated a conversation.

Webster then noticed Monty shivering because of the cold weather, and decided right then and there to do something selfless for the little boy and his father. He invited them to his home so they had a place to stay – telling his manager at Waffle House that he needed a break so he could drive them there to rest.

Hammond was so taken aback by the gesture that he contacted the media to spread the word of Webster’s amazing act of kindness. The story quickly went viral, with many praising Webster’s selfless actions.

“So happy That this man reached out with compassion and helped this father and son- I am sure this sort of thing happens all over our country, but the media does not often write about it- TYVM 4 reaching out 2 them!!!” one Newsiosity reader commented on the site’s Facebook page.

“It is so heart warming to know there are people out there like Amen Webster who would be so kind to some one so desperately in need. You are a good man & God will bless for your good deed,” another added.

Some called on the mainstream media to start reporting on acts of kindness like Webster’s rather than focusing on negative stories and political distractions.

” If the media would report some of the good news about wonderful people and their deeds ,instead of the garbage putting down our President just maybe we would start finding them human and worth listening to,” one reader wrote.

“This is what America is all about ! Hey News Media ,,, why has this story not hit your headlines !!! Ooh your too busy dreaming up ways to mess with our president, yes he is our president like it or not. America needs all the help they can get, and a man like this needs to be admired and talked about, rather than all the bull shit that you see on TV and even the news,” another added.
