Mom Pulls Over For Flat Tire, Feels Tap On Her Shoulder

AmericaNow Staff  ·  March 14, 2017

A Florida mother was shocked when she turned around while checking out her flat tire and saw who tapped her on the shoulder.

According to Newsiosity, Caryl Soucy dropped her son off at school when her tire popped and went flat. She pulled over to the side of the road, next to a vacant parking lot.

The flat tire threw a wrench into Caryl’s plans for the day. She got out of her car to look at the tire and decided to swap it out herself rather than calling for roadside assistance.

As the mother stood next to her car, looking at her tire, she heard a voice and felt a tap on the shoulder. When she turned around, she was surprised to see a police officer standing behind her.

Caryl wrote about her experience in a post on the Love What Matters Facebook page.

“This morning after I dropped my son off at school I heard my tire go and knew I was driving on my rim. I quickly pulled over into the Jervy Gandt parking lot and began to assess the situation,” she wrote. “I pulled out the worst jack on earth and my T bar and tried to start changing my tire. Before I knew it a police officer pulled in and came over and started helping. He didn’t even ask if I needed help or what happened, he just started helping me. He changed my flat faster than I’ve ever seen someone change one and considering the tools I had for him to work with, it was quite impressive. His name was Officer Clark. Please share this around so that he will know what his kindness and compassion meant to me. And also so others in our community can see that there are many good cops out there protecting and serving our community. From the bottom of my heart, Thank you officer Clark!”

Many were touched by the mother’s story and commented on the post, expressing their support for Officer Clark and police in general.

“Far too many officers get a bad wrap,” one user commented. “Yes, there are a bad ones, too, but they are not the majority. They are out there day after day to help us and to keep us safe. Please give them the respect they deserve!”

“Great police officer,” another user wrote. “Take care and you are going to be [a] worldwide celebrity. Bless you and your family.”
