This Paper Contains A Secret Agreement Between The US and This Country – See For Yourself

On Tuesday, President Donald Trump removed a sheet of paper from his suit pocket and told reporters that it contained information about his secret agreement with the Mexican government.

“Right here is the agreement. It’s very simple. It’s right here. And in here is everything you want to talk about. Done. It’s done. It’s done,” Trump said.

Despite showing reporters the sheet of folded paper, Trump went on to claim that he could not yet reveal the contents of the document because he wanted to let Mexico declare the agreement “at the right time.”

“Here’s the agreement. A very simple agreement. This is one page of a very long and very good agreement for both Mexico and the United States. Without the tariffs, we would’ve had nothing. We had nothing two weeks ago.”

“I just give you my word and I would love to do it but you will freeze action it. You will stop it, you will analyze it. Every single letter you’ll see. But in here is the agreement,” Trump said while pointing to the paper.

However, three days after Trump announced the secret deal, Mexico denied that there existed such an agreement. Mexican Foreign Secretary Marcelo Ebrard told reporters that both countries had agreed on two actions, which were made public on Friday.

“There is no other thing beyond what I have just explained,” Ebrard said.

He added: “They wanted something else totally different … to be signed. But that is what there is here. There is no other thing.”

As for Trump’s tweets hyping a secret agreement, Ebrard announced he’d provided a full account of the agreement for transparency’s sake.

Former Vice President Joe Biden highlighted Trump’s claim during a speech in Iowa on Tuesday, saying:

“I understand that he has a secret important document with Mexico. And I’m sure that for a heck of a lot of Iowans being crushed by his tariffs, they would like to see that secret document.”
