‘Family Matters’ Star Accused Of Horrific Crime

Former ‘Family Matters’ star Darius McCrary is under fire for allegations that he held his infant daughter over a pot of boiling water. 

McCrary’s estranged wife, Tammy Brawner, asked a judge for a restraining order following allegations of horrific behavior that included holding the couple’s 1-year-old daughter over a pot of boiling water while screaming that he wished she was never born. 

Brawner also claimed that her husband strapped the baby’s arms down while feeding her. He was also abusive towards his wife, according to her claims.

McCrary, who was previously accused of abuse by his ex-wife, responded to the claims in an Instagram post.

Yea right…sad some people will do ANYTHING make #TMZ,” he wrote. 

The actor’s attorney, Glen T. Jones, denied the allegations in a statement.

“McCrary is a loving, devoted and dedicated father,” the statement read, New York Daily News reported.

“Her allegations are such obvious and outlandish lies…we are all dumber for having read them. Having floundered after being fired by the globetrotters she apparently will say anything for a bit of media attention and glimpse of the spotlight.”

In court papers detailed by The Wrap, Brawner claimed that McCrary is “violent, destructive and unstable emotionally. He has a violent history.”

Claims of abuse against McCrary by his ex-wife, Karrine Steffans, were denied at the time.

“While it is unfortunate that Miss Steffans has resorted to such public attacks and allegations against Mr. McCrary, he wants his family, friends and fans to know that in no way does he condone anyone resorting to violence against another human being to solve a problem,” his representative said in a statement to E! News in 2010, when the allegations came to light. 

“It is apparent that Miss Steffans didn’t take the finality of the divorce well and has resorted to her old tricks of public defamation of one’s character.”

Brawner is currently seeking a divorce from her husband. McCrary is best known for playing Eddie Winslow on the popular 90s sitcom.
