Cop Attacked By Thugs After Motorcycle Chase (Video)

AmericaNow Staff  ·  March 22, 2017

Horrific dashcam video showed a Michigan state trooper being attacked by two men after engaging in a high speed motorcycle chase (video below).

Michael Barber and his brother, Travis Wise, were arrested for attacking trooper Gary Guild after 21-year-old Barber led him on a chase while riding a stolen motorcycle. After some time, Barber crashed into a ditch after breaking left across a median. Guild commanded Barber to get on the ground, but he ignored the order and began fighting the officer. It as then that Barber’s 19-year-old brother ran towards the scene and put Guild in a chokehold.

Suddenly, two Good Samaritans spotted the struggle, pulled over and rushed to Guild’s assistance. Ultimately, the brothers were arrested and now face numerous charges including assault strangulation. That charge alone could see them spending 10 years in prison.

Many readers commended the Good Samaritans for helping get Guild out of a potentially deadly situation.

“Grateful for the brave folks who stopped to render aid. I’m certain many law enforcement family members will rest easier seeing that not only do many believe it’s necessary for good people to do something to ensure evil doesn’t prevail, to coin a phrase, but KNOW that they’ll also act on that belief– no matter the fallout,” one WNDU reader commented.

“They got what they deserved! Glad the officer got help too. Good citizens to the rescue!” another reader commented on Mad World News’ Facebook page.

“Lock them up and melt the key,” another added.

In a similar incident, a Philadelphia teen was arrested after a police officer was reportedly assaulted.

The officer was attacked when he responded to a call of a man walking around with a gun in a parking lot. He was the first to arrive, and started frisking the suspect when he spotted him.

“The suspect violently struggled with the officer and was able to actually pick the officer up off the ground and slam his body,” Police Chief Inspector Scott Small told 6ABC.

The officer was knocked unconscious and the suspect was able to flee the scene. He was found and arrested 20 minutes later – charged with aggravated assault.

The teen was identified by the officer while he recovered at the hospital. He suffered a laceration to the head as a result of the assault.

“Hopefully whatever legal ramifications, the kid can get can help,” resident Loretta Eberle said in response to the incident, “because obviously he’s a teenager. He’s doing the wrong thing, but he’s still a kid.”
