Couple Found Passed Out On Street From Heroin (Video)

A Facebook video showing two people unconscious from heroin on a Memphis, Tennessee, sidewalk went viral (video below).

Police reported that the people seen in the video admitted that they “snorted some heroin” in the bathroom of a nearby Walgreens before they passed out. A driver noticed them on the sidewalk and called 911, who responded to find them unconscious but in noncritical condition.

The couple, who are husband and wife, were revived and taken to the hospital. 

The woman, Carla Hiers, had a warrant out for her arrest and was subsequently taken into custody.

“What they were doing was children things. It was a spectacle. It made me laugh. They can help themselves,” Courtland Garner, who posted the Facebook video, told WREG of his decision to take video instead of helping them. “I know for a fact all the kids are on social media, and when kids see that video, you know what they are going to say? I don’t want to look stupid like that I don’t want to do those drugs.”

The disturbing video quickly went viral, with some applauding Garner’s decision not to help the couple.

“The lady that said they didn’t do it to themselves it was their brain change,well I would like to know who the hell did do something to them to cause the brain change.They made the choice to use drugs and that is what made the brain change.No sympathy from me,” one Newsiosity reader commented on the site’s Facebook page. 

“The very first time those people used, they ran the risk and unfortunately got caught in the web of drugs. Their fault, maybe the dealer’s fault. No one else is at fault,” another added.

Other viewers commented more specifically on the issue of drug addiction.

“So someone has made it possible to use drugs and not suffer the consequences. “You overdose? No problem, we’ll just give you a shot here and you can do it again.” Maybe if enough people start dying from the overdoses the others might stop using…..nah, they won’t,” one viewer commented.

“What has happened to our love of human life yes they did do it to themselves but God help people that has lost the love of human life if it had been a dog laying on the street they would be looking for someone to throw in jail God help those kind of people,” another added.
