Father Shocked Family Survived Horrific Car Wreck

AmericaNow Staff  ·  February 24, 2017

A Michigan father says that it is a miracle that his family survived after a horrific car wreck on the highway.

Martin Molina’s son, daughter, and three grandchildren were in a car on I-196 in Grand Rapids when his son lost control of their vehicle and crashed into a fire truck.

Molina told WXMI that his son, Martin Shea Molina, Jr., was driving when he lost control of the car. A Grand Rapids Fire Department fire truck was parked on the side of the highway while responding to another accident. When Molina Jr. lost control, he crashed into the truck.

“From the reports I got, they didn’t think that there were going to be any survivors,” Molina told WXMI. “It was God’s hands that just took care of them.”

Fortunately, because the car crashed into an emergency response vehicle, responders were already at the scene and able to help out the family.

Molina’s daughter, Brandy Grigsby, was in the passenger’s seat of the vehicle, while his three grandchildren were in the back seat.

“My grand kids, being that it crushed on my son, protected my grand kids,” Molina said. “Those seats went back and just covered them. That was God’s hand.”

All five of Molina’s family members are currently recovering from the accident, suffering from various injuries. Grigsby suffered head trauma in the crash and the two of Molina’s three grandchildren in the car suffered broken collar bones, the grandfather says.

The family considers themselves incredibly lucky to be alive.

“I could have lost them all, that time, one shot,” Molina said.

According to Newsiosity, Molina shared his family’s story in order to convey one simple message.

“Be aware,” Molina said. “Be aware and slow down. This is winter time, and we need to slow down.”
