Ivanka Trump’s Instagram Picture Sparks Pregnancy Rumors (Photo)
First daughter Ivanka Trump sparked pregnancy rumors following an Instagram post wishing her husband a happy birthday.
Ivanka Trump, daughter of President Donald Trump, took to Instagram to wish her husband, Jared Kushner, a happy birthday — and posted a photo that showed her holding her stomach as if she were pregnant.
“Happy birthday, Jared! Thank you for being the most amazing father, husband, and best friend I could have dreamed of. Here’s to you,” the post read, AOL reported. Speculation immediately spread throughout social media, with many people joking about the possibility of her being pregnant.
“If she’s pregnant, hopefully, that’ll be the way the 2 of them will leave the WH where they should never have been in the first place,” one Twitter user wrote.
It was later determined that the photo was from January of 2016, when Ivanka Trump was still pregnant with her youngest child, Theodore.
Meanwhile, she continues to garner criticism for her tweet supporting the speech made by talk show host Oprah Winfrey at the Golden Globes — which many saw as hypocritical because the speech supported the #MeToo movement and there are currently more than 16 women accusing Donald Trump of sexual abuse or harassment.
“Let’s all come together, women & men, & say #TIMESUP!” Ivanka Trump tweeted. She also called the speech “empowering” and “inspiring.”
“This is…unexpected. Particularly given talk of Oprah 2020. Particularly given the multiple women who have accused her father of sexual harassment. Particularly given some of Oprah’s comments seemed directed at President Trump,” Boston Globe reporter Matt Viser tweeted in response.
In her speech, which has since prompted rumors and encouragement about a run for president in 2020, Winfrey spoke to the power of the movement — which has called out a growing number of men in Hollywood for sexually harassing and abusing women.
“I’m especially proud and inspired by all the women who have felt strong enough and empowered enough to speak up and share their personal stories,” Winfrey said. “Each of us in this room are celebrated because of the stories that we tell, and this year we became the story. But it’s not just a story affecting the entertainment industry. It’s one that transcends any culture, geography, race, religion, politics or workplace.”
Richard Sher, Winfrey’s longtime friend, told The Washington Post that he believes she’d win if she decided to run.
“But at this point it’s other people, not her, that’s talking about it,” he said.
