Mother Of Benghazi Victim: Clinton Should Be In Jail (Video)

AmericaNow Staff  ·  July 19, 2016

The mother of one of the American victims in the 2012 Benghazi attack spoke at the Republican National Convention and blamed presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton for her son’s murder (video below).

“This entire campaign comes down to a single question: If Hillary Clinton can’t give us the truth, why should we give her the presidency?” Patricia Smith, the mother of Sean Smith, said to a round of applause, reported CNN.

During the Benghazi attack, Clinton was serving as the Secretary of State and has received criticism for her handling of the situation. Reports of the incident have alleged that the State Department did not take seriously warnings they had received about a potential attack and weren’t prepared when an attack came to fruition, according to Yahoo.

Those accusations as well as rumors of a cover-up attempt by blaming the attack on a spontaneous mob reaction from an anti-Islam video — which received a great deal of media attention but proved to be false — fueled speculation that Clinton and the Obama administration were responsible for the American deaths in Benghazi.

And Patricia Smith has been vocal in her support of these accusations, having testified to Congress, appeared on news programs, and spoken at the Republican National Convention.

“I blame Hillary Clinton,” Smith said during her RNC speech. “I blame Hillary Clinton personally for the death of my son — personally.”

Sean Smith was a foreign service information management officer working at the U.S. embassy in Benghazi in 2012. He was one of four American victims of the terrorist attack there, along with U.S. ambassador Chris Stevens and CIA contractors Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods. Smith left behind a wife and two children.

“Hillary Clinton is a woman, a mother, and a grandmother of two,” Patricia Smith said. “I am a woman, a mother, and a grandmother of two. How could she do this to me? How could she do this to any American family?”
