Mother Arrested For What She Did To Vet Memorial (Video)

A mother was arrested for urinating twice on a war memorial under the influence of alcohol (video below).

Kelly Martin was caught on video urinating on the war memorial in Essex, England, a first time while drunk – and then a second time months later when she was out on bail.

“F**k this,” Martin shouted as she was escorted into a courtroom following the second arrest.

“Each of these [offenses] is so serious that only a custodial sentence is appropriate. The two cases of outraging public decency involve urinating on a war memorial,” Judge John Lodge said in court, Daily Mail reported. “Inevitably war memorials were constructed at the centre of towns and villages so on a daily basis people could be reminded of the sacrifices made by people who died. People use them as a place around which they congregate and that’s not wrong, but when people take that step further and abuse them by urinating on them that’s a matter the court needs to take very seriously indeed.”

Lodge shamed Martin in court for doing what she did two times. The mother-of-five was sentenced to one month in prison for the first incident, three months for the second and three months for assault and abusive language – all of which were set to run consecutively. 

“I’m disappointed by the sentence that the judge gave but his hands were tied, he had no sentencing guidelines to work with,” Army Veteran Kenneth Campbell said after the sentencing. “And that is why we will petitioning to have it put on the statue books, it needs to be put in black and white and made a crime on its own.”

Many readers called for Martin to be more harshly punished for her disgusting crime.

“Make her scrub toilets and clean the floors at a local military base where everyone there knows exactly what she did and can treat her appropriately when she shows up for work every morning….. Things like this are a disease on our country,, cant even call them people,” one Newsiosity reader commented on the site’s Facebook page.

“I think she should have to serve in a branch of the military for four years to see what these men and women go thru.then maybe she will she what a disgraceful pig she is,” another wrote.

“How were these people raised – we are raising a bunch or drunks and druggies with no respect for anything or anyone – we should force people on birth control until they take a course on parenting and pass and become licensed – we need licenses and training for everything else except what is most important to the world – any asshole can procreate – shameful,” another added.
