Trump: Clinton ‘Has To Go To Jail’
Presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump bashed Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton during a rally June 3 in San Jose, California.
“And remember I said I was a counter-puncher?” Trump said, according to CBS. “I am. After what she said about me today and her phony speech. That was a phony speech. That was a Donald Trump hit job. I will say this. Hillary Clinton has to go to jail. She has to go to jail.”
Trump was responding to Clinton’s speech on June 2 in which she attacked Trump’s temperament and personality as being unfit for the presidency.
“This is not someone who should ever have the nuclear codes because it’s not hard to imagine Donald Trump leading us into a war just because somebody got under his very thin skin,” Clinton said, according to the New York Times.
But Trump hit back at Clinton, to the delight of his rowdy audience.
“Liar. Lyin’ Hillary. Liar. Ted Cruz is no longer a liar. We don’t say Lyin’ Ted anymore. We love Ted! We don’t want to say Lyin’ Ted. Lyin’ crooked Hillary!” Trump shouted.
“She’s a liar. She made up my foreign policy. She said ‘Donald Trump is going to do this,’ I never said that. And ‘Donald Trump is going to do that,’” Trump continued. “A friend of mine was in the room and said, ‘You never said you were going to do that.’ I said ‘that’s right’ — she’s makes it up. She’s a bad person.”
Trump has repeatedly painted Clinton as being untrustworthy, a description that 64 percent of Americans believe, according to a New York Times/CBS poll from May, reported CNN.
But Trump also has credibility problems. That same poll shows 64 percent of Americans also believe the former reality TV star can’t be trusted.
