Gingrich: What Has Clinton Been Right About?
In 1994, two years after Bill Clinton was first voted into the White House, Newt Gingrich rode a wave of Conservatism in Congress that swept him into his role as the Speaker of the House. Gingrich became famous for co-authoring 1994’s “Contract with America” and for his combative relationship with the White House.
On June 26, Gingrich showed that his relationship with the Clinton family has not changed.
During an interview with “Fox News Sunday,” Gingrich slammed Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton for her foreign policy record.
“I mean, what has she been right about?” Gingrich asked, reports Fox News Insider. “If we need more of this kind of experience, it’s a little bit like Casey Stengel once asking if anybody on the Mets could play the game. I mean, there’s no reason why Hillary Clinton’s experiences qualify her for anything except retirement.”
Rumors have begun to grow that Gingrich is on the short list to become Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s Vice President pick.
“She was wrong on Brexit,” Gingrich added, reports the Washington Times. “She wanted the ‘remain’ vote to win. She was wrong on Libya; she thought it would somehow get better if we knocked [off dictator Muammar] Gaddafi. She was wrong on the reset with Russia.”
Gingrich then went after Clinton’s relationship with Wall Street and renewed calls that she release the transcripts of the speeches she gave to major banks, including Goldman Sachs.
“But I don’t know that that’s the kind of experience that, this fall, is going to work very well,” Gingrich added.
When Gingrich was asked about becoming Trump’s VP pick, he responded that Trump probably will not make a choice until just before the convention, reports Fox News.
“I think that he is a very decisive person and in case of a few of us – I’m an example,” he said. “There’s not much vetting to do. I mean, you guys have been all over me for a decade.”
