Lewandowski: Trump Has Already Done More Than Obama

Donald Trump’s former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski praised the president-elect for doing a full-term’s worth of work in the matter of weeks since his electoral win.

“Donald Trump, in the first four weeks of his presidency, has done more to help this country than I think Barack Obama has done in the last 4 years,” Lewandowski said on Fox News’ “Hannity” on December 6. “I know that is a strong statement, but what we see is a commitment to our military and to our businesses to reduce the amount of government regulations so they can continue to grow our economy, not at one percent or two percent, but at four percent or five percent. Lower the corporate tax rate so our country can be competitive in a global marketplace. That’s what we have.”

Lewandowski went on to say that Trump is living up to his “America First” campaign motto and setting a precedent for his presidential term, in which the former CNN commentator said Americans would see more opportunities to bring home a steady paycheck.

“We saw just last week, 1100 jobs saved in Indiana,” Lewandowski said of Trump’s controversial Carrier deal. “Those are hard-working Americans who are going to be able to keep their jobs here and have a great Christmas, where it’s okay to say Merry Christmas again.”

Under the agreement reached on December 1, United Technologies, the company that owns Carrier, will receive a $7 million state tax break over the course of 10 years in exchange for keeping 1,100 jobs in Indiana and sending 600 to Mexico, at the expense of a $16 million investment, reports PBS.

According to the former campaign manager, Trump will bring his business background to the Oval Office and use it to ensure that the government is spending money in the right places, citing criticism that the president-elect drew after calling out Boeing for reportedly charging more than $4 billion for a new Air Force One fleet.

“He’s looking at $4 billion and saying, ‘Is this the best we can do?'” explained Lewandowski. “Let’s shave the cost. Let’s use our taxpayer dollars wisely. Why are we spending $4 billion if the plane should really be a $2 billion plane?'”
