Mother’s Dark Secret Seeps Out, Cops Make Sick Discovery Inside Her Home
A mother from Denver, Colorado, was arrested after she allegedly abused her two children using a power drill and a steam iron.
Kinyaita Davis was arrested after her children, ages 11 and 12, reportedly went to their aunt and begged her to help them, saying their mother had been abusing them for years. The abuse reportedly began when the children were toddlers and included incidents of Davis putting an iron against her son’s shoulder and pushing the steam button, as well as putting a power drill through her daughter’s hand.
“This is hard on us,” Davis’ sister told KDVR after she turned her sister in to police. “It was a hard decision doing what I did for the kids. But, at the same time, it was easier for what I’ve seen personally as far as bruises and burns.”
The abuse allegedly started when the children wouldn’t clean the house. Davis first began beating them with a belt, then used the steam iron on them.
Davis’ sister said that both Denver Health as well as Denver Health and Human Services were aware of the abuse but didn’t intervene.
“They knew and they didn’t do anything about it,” she said.
A Health and Human Services spokeswoman later spoke to KDVR about how the department handles abuse cases.
“No child should ever suffer abuse or neglect and our child welfare team takes all allegations reported to us very seriously,” spokeswoman Julie Smith said. “Because all clients are afforded the right to privacy, we are not permitted to discuss specific cases. I can say that we are committed to protecting children and building up families.”
Davis was arrested and was set to face two counts of felony child abuse.
“The worker should loose his or her job,” one Mad World News reader commented on the site’s Facebook page. “This so called mom should have a drill, hot iron and what ever else she did to these kids happen to her. She should be tortured like she tortured these kids. I hope they will be treated better with a Aunt.”
“Every person that was involved with these kids should be held accountable,” another wrote. “CPS always looks the other way. Gives the sorriest of parents custody of children that has been abused so many times. They are not doing their job.”
“This women is unfit to have children she should be neutered just like we do with our pets she is disgusting I know it’s over thority that were supposed to look out for the safety of them children need to lose their job they aren’t fit to be in the position they’re in,” commented another.
