Obama’s Former Doctor Wants Clinton To Be Examined
Dr. David Scheiner, a former physician to President Barack Obama, believes that Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton should have her head examined.
On Aug. 30, Dr. Scheiner told CNN: “I think she should have had a neurological examination, a thorough neurological examination in 2016.”
Clinton has already released a two-page medical document from her personal physician, who noted that she had been tested for blood clotting in 2013. Her doctor stated that she had shown a full recovery from a previous concussion she had suffered while serving as Secretary of State.
In Scheiner’s view, Clinton needs to have another examination, warning that concussions can lead to complications years after the fact.
“We know what happens to football players who have had concussions, how they begin to lose some of their cognitive ability,” Scheiner said.
Clinton, at least, has released a comprehensive doctor’s note that had included medical data. So far, the only medical record that GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump has produced was a hastily-written note penned by his personal physician, Dr. Harold Bornstein.
On Aug. 26, Bornstein admitted to NBC News that he had penned the four-paragraph letter in the span of five minutes after waiting until the last possible moment.
While the letter offered no actual data on Trump’s physical or mental health, Bornstein had written: “If elected, Mr. Trump, I can state unequivocally, will be the healthiest individual ever elected to the presidency.”
In Scheiner’s view, Trump’s transparency about his health has been insufficient.
“I think both of them should release their records,” Scheiner said of the two major-party nominees.
The former Obama physician scolded Dr. Bornstein for such a hastily written letter, noting how it had included no actual data from Trump’s medical records.
“This is arguably one of the most important things Dr. Bornstein ever wrote and he showed absolutely no concern for the public to whom it was really meant to read.”
While Clinton has been the more forthcoming presidential candidate when it comes to medical records, questions about her health have been making headlines, with rumors that she is somehow ill being stoked by Trump himself.
Trump has suggested that Clinton lacks the physical and mental stamina to become commander-in-chief. Meanwhile, his campaign surrogates, including former Republican Mayor Rudy Giuliani of New York City, have stated that they believe she is hiding a secret illness.
On Aug. 28, Trump took to social media to offer his medical records, but only with the caveat that Clinton herself would release her detailed records, according to TIME Magazine.
“I think that both candidates, Crooked Hillary and myself, should release detailed medical records,” Trump tweeted. “I have no problem in doing so! Hillary?”
On Aug. 25, Clinton dismissed Trump’s assertions that she was secretly ill during a speech slamming the GOP nominee for his ties to white supremacist groups.
“His latest paranoid fever dream is about my health,” Clinton said, according to Business Insider. “And all I can say is, ‘Donald, dream on.’”
