Melania Gets Revenge On Michelle Obama At Easter Event, You’ll Love This
First Lady Melania Trump led her first Easter Egg Roll on Easter Sunday at the White House, and it drew significant comparisons to the ones led by her predecessor, Michelle Obama.
The Washington Post reported that this year’s roll was low key and “less flashy” than previous years, with the First Lady opting to put focus on the “more traditional aspects of the longtime Easter Egg Roll.”
Michelle Obama, the previous First Lady, opted for a bigger event in 2016 specifically, with the “carnival-like” Easter Egg Roll focusing on her “Let’s Move” health initiative and featuring celebrity appearances.
Some of the attendees this year expressed excitement about going to the roll, including Lubbock, Texas, woman Laura Trevino, who entered the lottery six years in a row for her family. Finally, Trevino, her daughter Madison and husband Rodrigo, were selected.
“We’ve always wanted to go because we have such pride in our country,” she told the Washington Post. Her husband, an Air Force recruiter, had never been to D.C.
“We wanted him to see what he was fighting for,” she said, adding that she was excited to be in the presence of President Trump – who she believes is fighting for military families.
Many readers applauded Melania Trump for how she approached this year’s Easter Egg Roll.
“I knew she would pull it off with class! Our First Lady is beautiful, smart, and charming! The Trump family is the best thing to happen to our country in a long time,” one Mad World News reader commented on the site’s Facebook page.
Others called on people to stop comparing the First Lady and her predecessor and how they approach their jobs.
“Why promote hate? Melanie does what is required of a First Lady without thought of former First Lady. I don’t think she’s trying to out do anyone. Why create more hate? She’s a beautiful, sweet, graceful, classy First Lady. I’m sure she doesn’t like being compared to other first ladies. It’s not a contest. We can’t all look alike,” one reader commented.
“This is ridiculous, the Obamas can celebrate any way they want to. I’m sure our new First Lady, wasn’t even giving anyone a second thought, she planned a great day for her family and the people. Don’t we have bigger problems, then a Easter celebration, this is so silly,” another added.
“I don’t imagine she gave one thought to what others have done. This is her event and as expected, it was family centered and traditional. Who cares what the former potus and flotus do?” another wrote.
