Snoop Dogg Depicts Assassination In New Music Video (Video)
Many are shocked and outraged by what Snoop Dogg does in his latest music video (video below).
Since Donald Trump was elected President of the United States, there has been an expected increase in anti-Trump music. Snoop Dogg is the latest musician to join in on the anti-Trump music trend.
In the video for his latest single, a remix of the BADBADNOTGOOD and Kaytranada song, “Lavender,” which touches on the topic of police brutality, Snoop is seen holding a gun to the head of a clown portraying President Trump, named “Ronald Klump.” He then pulls the trigger, simulating the assassination of the president, when a “bang” flag discharges from the gun, according to the American Mirror.
Many were outraged by the depiction of an assassination in the music video.
“I think this could be considered a threat and certainly worthy of Secret Service and FBI investigation,” one viewer commented on The American Mirror. “Perhaps it might be worth having the IRS do a little ‘snooping’ around too.”
“Once again, this video supports crime and violence. Should arrest Snoop for portraying the murder of our president,” a YouTube user commented.
Another user wrote,” I actually liked Snoop Dogg before this. I lost respect for him. I don’t even care if this was Obama. You don’t do that.”
Snoop Dogg discussed the song’s subject matter and his issues with President Trump in an interview with Billboard.
“The whole world is clowin’ around, and the concept is so right on point with the art direction and the reality, because if you really look at some of these motherf***ers, they are clowns,” Snoop said.
He continued, discussing President Trump, “The ban that this motherf–ker tried to put up; him winning the presidency; police being able to kill motherf–kers and get away with it; people being in jail for weed for 20, 30 years and motherf–kers that’s not black on the streets making money off of it — but if you got color or ethnicity connected to your name, you’ve been wrongfully accused or locked up for it, and then you watching people not of color position themselves to get millions and billions off of it. It’s a lot of clown sh-t going on that we could just sit and talk on the phone all day about, but it’s a few issues that we really wanted to lock into [for the video] like police, the president and just life in general.”
The rapper said that he wasn’t looking for a reaction when he decided to include the depiction of the assassination of Trump in the video.
“When I be putting sh*t out, I don’t ever expect or look for a reaction. I just put it out because I feel like it’s something that’s missing. Any time I drop something, I’m trying to fill in a void,” he said. “I feel like it’s a lot of people making cool records, having fun, partying, but nobody’s dealing with the real issue with this f–king clown as president, and the sh*t that we dealing with out here, so I wanted to take time out to push pause on a party record and make one of these records for the time being.”
