Waitress Left Crying After Customer Overhears What She Does With Her Money

A Texas waitress was stunned when she received a $1000 tip from a customer.

Alesha Palmer said she was working at Vetoni’s Italian restaurant in Gun Barrel, Texas, and waiting on a man who asked about her college plans. She told the man that her parents were helping her pay for college.

The customer, who was sitting alone, then went up and spoke to the owner.

“I went up to the owner, Mike and asked if I had done something wrong,” the 18-year-old told KLTV. Palmer quickly learned that she hadn’t done anything wrong at all.

“He turned over the receipt and I kind of just stood there wide eyed and I just started crying and I’m in the middle of the restaurant,” she said. The man gave her a $1000 tip.

Jennifer Brown, the manager of the restaurant, said it was the largest tip they’d ever received.

“We had a lawyer that would come in here and would leave $100 tips because he worked his way through law school,” she said. “It restores your faith; there is just so much bad going on and you always hear of all the bad. You don’t hear the good.”

Palmer, who is planning to get a degree in business, said that the tip would help her immensely in her efforts to save up for college, but would also serve as a reminder of good people in the world when times get tough.

“It’s definitely going to help me when I have a hard day and I’m stressed out I’m just going to think that in the back of my mind,” she said. She added that she was appreciative of the man’s selfless gesture.

“I would like to thank him deeply and utterly. It’s not every day that you come across someone that’s as sweet and generous,” she said.

Many readers applauded the man for tipping the girl so generously.
