A Facebook post about a police officer that comforted a scared child after a car accident went viral.

Kay Denton’s post went viral after being shared on Love What Matters’ Facebook page. In the post, a police officer was seen lying on the ground next to a car that was in an accident.

“This officer was not hurt or injured in any way,” the post read. “This officer was comforting a child who was injured in the accident. This child was an eight year old black male who was scared to death and had some internal injuries. This officer laid on the ground with this child, cradling his head in his hand and talking to him to keep him calm.”

Denton, a co-worker of the officer, said that he also sang “happy birthday” to the child when he found out it was the boy’s birthday.

“At one point the child reached over and patted the officer on the head and then played with the officer’s hair! THIS is why I’m a police officer, to help people, to be there for them no matter what the circumstances and no matter what skin color! I pray that this beautiful little boy is okay and I thank God that I work with some amazing officers who are so compassionate and caring! Thank you for making me proud to be your supervisor!” the post read.

Many readers praised the officer for going above and beyond to help the child.

“This absolutely moved me to tears! The officer is a super hero in so many ways! Hope the young boy will be okay. Praying for him! Thank you Officer for caring enough to help the child not to be afraid. The boy playing with his hair was soothing and comforting to him. God used this officer to bring comfort to this young boy!” one Mad World News reader commented on the site’s Facebook page.

“This story is one of the most heart felt stories I’ve heard in a long time. When there is a emergence, skin color don’t matter, This officer was a blessing to this young boy, and it allso was his birthday. I thought for a minute, what if it was my son. I surly would want any one or race, to help him. A truly blessed story. GOD blessing be on them all,” another wrote.

“hy can’t people see all the good that these officers do. There are so many good ones that go above and beyond to help people in time of need and very, very few bad ones. It seems that the leftist just live to hate the police because they are doing their job which is to stop the people that are doing wrong! Thank you officers!” another added.
