Kitten And Crow Become Unexpected Friends (Video)

AmericaNow Staff  ·  July 18, 2016

A crow and a kitten became fast friends after being brought in by the same owner (video below).

In 1999, the kitten wandered into the backyard of Massachusetts couple Wallace and Ann Collito, who initially thought it was a rat, reports Mother Nature Network.

The kitten soon got an unlikely caretaker in the form of a crow.

The family began noticing the crow had taken the kitten under its wing, feeding it insects and worms. The cat, who they named Cassie, immediately took to the crow, named Moses. Moses became protective of Cassie, protecting her from other animals and keeping her out of the street.

The couple began filming the unlikely duo so people would know that the remarkable pairing was real.

Eventually, the couple was able to lure Cassie indoors with cat food, MNN reported. Every morning, the cat would meet Moses at the screen door and the two would reunite.

Eventually, Moses stopped showing up to the couple’s home at 6 a.m. every morning as usual. It is believed that he died, as American crows only live seven to eight years in the wild.

Ann died in 2006 but 12-year-old Cassie still lives with Wallace.
