Report: Clinton Will Meet With FBI Saturday To Talk Emails

Hillary Clinton is reportedly scheduled to meet with the FBI on July 2 to discuss the investigation on the private email server she used while serving as secretary of state.

A source reportedly told the Daily Caller that the meeting will likely occur at Clinton’s home in Washington, D.C., and will wrap up the investigation into the Democratic front-runner’s handling of hundreds of classified documents on the email server, which was located at her home in New York.

The news comes days after former President Bill Clinton met privately with Attorney General Loretta Lynch aboard her private plane. Though Lynch said that the conversation topics were strictly personal, people have questioned the nature of their discussion and raised concerns of a potential conflict of interest for Lynch.

“People have a whole host of reasons to have questions about how we in government do our business,” Lynch said of the matter, according to The New York Times. “My meeting on the plane with former President Clinton could give them another reason to have questions and concerns.”

She went on to say that she did no wrong during the meeting but “certainly wouldn’t do it again.”

“The fact that the meeting that I had is now casting a shadow over how people are going to view that work is something that I take seriously, and deeply and painfully,” she added.

As separate lawsuits over the email scandal continue, many Republicans have questioned whether or not the current administration is giving the former secretary of state special treatment.

“In light of the apparent conflicts of interest, I have called repeatedly on Attorney General Lynch to appoint a special counsel to ensure the investigation is as far from politics as possible,” said Republican Sen. John Cornyn of Texas, who is a member of the Judiciary Committee.
