7-Year-Old Called ‘Little Hitler’ For Selling Hot Chocolate To Raise Money For Trump’s Wall

A 7-year-old boy from Texas has been called “little Hitler” for selling hot chocolate in an attempt to contribute to President Donald Trump’s border wall project.

The boy’s parents, Jennifer and Shane Stevens, said that their son Benton decided to raise money to help build the wall along the U.S. – Mexico border. Benton’s parents also mentioned that their son decided to raise the money after attending the president’s inauguration and watching Trump’s State of the Union address on February 5.

On February 16, Shane Stevens took a video of his son selling cups of hot chocolate for $2 each. He then uploaded the clip on Facebook and the video went viral, garnering more than 9,000 views on social media.

The 7-year-old boy was able to raise $200 on his first day and the next day he decided to set up his stand outside a mall in Steiner Ranch, Austin. While he was selling hot chocolate, he told CBS affiliate KEYE that a man had called him “little Hitler.”

“Some people were mad and calling me a ‘little Hitler’ and stuff, and some people were really happy,” the boy said.

Both his parents are members of the Republican National Convention. However, Jennifer Stevens emphasized that she never encouraged her son to get involved in political matters.

“They should be kids. I just happen to have very mature seven-year-old who wants to be involved in this. That’s what he wants to do. I have a 10-year-old who doesn’t,” she said.

Shane Stevens, on the other hand, said that he is utilizing this experience to teach his children an important lesson.

“If he’s going to do it, he needs to learn that there’s going to be a little backlash. But I just wish (the critics) would do it in a little more respectful, adult-like manner,” he said.

In a span of two days, Benton was able to raise $1,400. The boy said that he’s planning to mail the money to the president or visit Washington and personally hand the money over to Trump.
