Simon Demands That Young Boy Pick A Different Song After Cutting Him Off – Mom Is Mortified
When Simon Cowell cut off a young boy’s performance mid-song, the crowd was shocked. But what happened next will blow you away (video below).
In a 2009 clip from “Britain’s Got Talent,” 12-year-old Shaheen Jafargholi walks on stage for his audition, looking nervous. He tells the judges he will sing “Valerie” by Amy Winehouse.
The crowd cheers after Shaheen begins singing, but Cowell is not as impressed.
Suddenly, Cowell waves his arms and calls for the music to stop. Gasps can be heard in the crowd as Shaheen looks at Simon, confused and embarrassed. The other judges don’t seem to be too pleased with Simon, either.
“You’ve got this really wrong,” Simon tells the 12-year-old. “What do you sing apart from that?”
Shaheen, thinking quickly, says he can sing “Who’s Loving You” by the Jackson 5, a song difficult for anyone to pull, let alone a 12-year-old.
As soon he starts singing again, however, the crowd goes insane. His mother, the judges, and audience members are left in tears.
While some of Simon’s behavior can sometimes be controversial, it certainly seemed to pay off here.
Simon tells Shaheen, “This is how one song can change your life.”
“This may be the start of something special for you, young man,” he added.
Not surprisingly, Shaheen got a “Yes” from all three judges and returned in the next round.
