Biden: No Major Party Nominee In History Has Been Less Qualified Than Trump (Video)

Vice President Joe Biden took his turn at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia to reiterate a common theme his party has put out this election: Donald Trump is too dangerous to be president (video below).

“Let me talk about something that I am deadly serious about,” Biden said, according to a transcript of the speech from Bustle. “This is a complicated and uncertain world we live in. The threats are too great. The times are too uncertain. To elect Donald Trump as president of the United States … no major party nominee in the history of this nation has ever known less or has been less prepared to deal with our national security.”

Democrats have made an effort to describe Trump as “too dangerous” and allegedly considered the name “Dangerous Donald” as a tactical counterpoint to Trump’s popular usage of insulting nicknames for his opponents, according to Gawker.

Trump had previously dubbed his opponents “Low Energy Jeb” for former Republican Gov. Jeb Bush of Florida; “Little Marco” for Republican Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida; and “Crooked Hillary” for Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.

And Clinton herself has taken to telling voters that Trump will put people’s lives at risk.

“Donald Trump’s ideas aren’t just different; they’re dangerously incoherent,” she said in June, according to the Guardian.

One month later, on the eve of the Republican National Convention, Clinton continued to make her case to voters.

“What he has laid out is the most dangerous, reckless approach to being president than I think we’ve ever seen,” Clinton said told CBS’ Charlie Rose.

Rose asked Clinton if Trump is “the most dangerous man ever to run.”

“I believe that,” Clinton said. “I believe that.”

At the Democratic National Convention on July 27, Biden further stoked these fears — and referred to the recent, but unfounded as of now, accusations that Russia is attempting to intervene in the U.S. presidential election by leaking DNC emails to the public.

“Donald Trump, with all his rhetoric, would literally make us less safe,” Biden said. “We cannot elect a man who belittles our closest allies while embracing dictators like [Russian president] Vladimir Putin.”
