A man in Pitt County, North Carolina, was arrested and charged after he was reportedly caught by a probation officer raping a 6-year-old girl in a shed.

Martin Vasquez was arrested after the probation officer went to the home looking for Vasquez’s son, who was on probation at the time. When no one answered the door, the probation officer went to a shed behind the house and says he discovered 47-year-old Vasquez sexually abusing the girl.

Vasquez was initially charged with rape of a child and indecent liberties with a child, and was later hit with two additional counts of first-degree rape of a child as well two counts of indecent liberties with a child, three counts of first-degree kidnapping and six counts of disseminating obscenity.

Bail was initially set at $1 million for Vasquez, but it was later increased to $3 million.

Vasquez later appeared in court, where it was revealed the charges that came after his arrest were related to another victim.

After his arrest, Vasquez — who reportedly had no prior criminal record in North Carolina — posted $100,000 bail and was released on the condition of house arrest and electronic monitoring, WITN reported.

During the subsequent court appearance following the new charges, the judge opted to raise the bond to $3.1 million. Conviction on all the charges, the judge told Vasquez, would mean facing 42 years in prison.

Many readers called for Vasquez to be given a much harsher punishment than a prison sentence.

“Slime bag,” one Mad World News reader commented on the site’s Facebook page. “Bad enough when it’s done to teenage girls but to do this to a six year old child this SOB needs to be made a hen – cut it off before he does anything else to children. Low life.”

“That is so sick,” another wrote. “Execute him and get rid of this evil period and anyone like him – if we start punishing these scumbags like they deserve others will think twice about raping kids – but the consequences are not high enough – they all need to be executed period – they will never change and their is no rehab which works – why allow them to be parasites of our society – kill then and let’s o on with our lives.”

“Sick predators!” commented another user. “Perverted pedophile! They are diseased. We have to protect our children! Sad thing is thinks he loves them and didn’t do anything wrong. God have mercy on him cause rest of society wont!”
