A photo of an Illinois IHOP waiter helping a disabled woman eat at the restaurant where he worked went viral.

Keshia Dotson took to Facebook to share the photo.

“Today while visiting your Springfield, IL location on Dirksen I witnessed a very touching moment involving one of your servers. A man and disabled women were dining and your server sat down with them and proceeded to help feed the disabled woman while her companion enjoyed his food. My faith in humanity has been restored a little today,” she wrote on the restaurant’s page.

The post garnered thousands of likes and shares, with many people applauding the water for his act of kindness.

“What I think is the greatest part of all is there is no color barrier here just one human helping another as it should be….my hat is off to this person for having a heart of gold..his parents should be very proud of what he done…thank you for being a great person I would love to shake his hand myself,” one Mad World News reader commented on the site’s Facebook page.

“NOW THAT IS WHAT AMERICA IS ALL ABOUT……there are a lot of good people out in this world and if you would just slow down your day you will see it all around you,” another wrote.

Others called on people worldwide to start showing more respect to one another, just as the waiter did for the woman who needed his help.

“Thing will change,..when change our way of thinking…respect will come again when we all truly learned what it means to be respectful. …when we forget the color of ones skin, instead what character of ones spirit….when look toward the light of goodness and walk away from darkness of evil….then we all can again have pride of being an human and respect the fact that all lives matters,” one reader commented.

“What a nice thing to do.God Bless You Thomas.I’m sure the husband appreciated the assistance you gave his wife so that he could enjoy his meal,” another wrote.

“This gentleman should be the reflection for all. Unfortunetly this act of compassion is not the norm, but, it makes one appreciate his act even more,” another added.

“This beautiful man’s actions required no college course for this. This sees no gender, race, or social status. This is human love and compassion. Please show our children before it’s too late,” one reader commented on Dotson’s Facebook post.
