Armed Customer Thwarts Restaurant Robbery

An armed customer saved a restaurant owner from getting his business robbed.

Koy Sam was locking up his restaurant, K&S Seafood Bar and Grill in Houston, Texas, when two armed robbers ran in demanding money from the register. That’s when the armed customer came to the rescue.

Sam was cleaning the back room of the restaurant just after 8 p.m. when his wife ran back screaming and panicking. The two suspects ran into the building, looking for money from the register. While one man held the owners on the ground at gunpoint, the other man cleared the cash out of the register.

As he was walking to the register, however, the armed customer pulled out his weapon and confronted the two thieves.

The turn of events surprised the robbers and one fled the scene. The unnamed customer fired his gun at the escaping robber while holding the other on the ground. Police said they were unsure if the escaping robber was hit by the gunfire. The customer was able to keep the other man on the ground until authorities arrived.

Sam praised the customer for his heroic actions.

“He was amazing. He absolutely kept us all calm, made sure everything was okay,” he said, adding that although nothing was stolen, he was planning on having a surveillance system installed in the wake of the terrifying incident.

The suspect who escaped was last reported to be on the run, with police searching for any possible leads to identify the man.
