Clip Of Kala Brown Rescue Released (Video)
Video (below) of a South Carolina woman who was held captive in a shipping container by a serial killer has been released.
In the clip, Kala Brown can be seen chained to the back of a shipping container belonging to Todd Kohlhepp, who kidnapped her, held her hostage and raped her for over two months after shooting and killing her boyfriend, Charles Carver.
“You’re OK, we’re here,” one officer says to Brown as others free the woman from the chain wrapped around her neck.
“Do you know where your buddy is?” one officer asks in regard to Carver.
“Charlie? He shot him. He shot him. Todd Kohlhepp shot Charlie Carver three times in the chest, wrapped him in a blue tarp, put him in the bucket of the tractor, locked me down here. I’ve never seen him again,” Brown says.
“He said he’s dead and buried, he says there’s several bodies dead and buried out here. He says the dogs will be ruined if they go looking because of red pepper.”
The shipping container was on a farm property owned by Kohlhepp, who previously worked as a real estate agent in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
After his arrest, Kohlhepp admitted to and pleaded guilty to killing seven people over the course of 13 years, the New York Post reported.
Four of the victims were workers at Superbike Motorsports and were killed in 2003 after the manager of the business made Kohlhepp angry. Melissa Brackman, the wife of victim and Superbike owner Scott Ponder, stood in front of Kohlhepp in court alongside her son Scott Jr., who never got to meet his father.
“I miss motorcycle rides on the back of his bike. I missed him rubbing my pregnant belly,” she said.
Because Kohlhepp pleaded guilty to the murders, he avoided the death penalty.
“They should have let her kill him!” one Mad World News reader commented on the site’s Facebook page.
“Why not lock him in same container,” another wrote.
“Why waist our tax payers money on this scum bag, he doesn’t deserve to have 3 meals a day and a roof over his head he deserves to hang or go in front of the shooting squad!!” another added.
Kohlhepp moved to South Carolina in 2001 after serving 14 years in prison on kidnapping charges. In that case, he kidnapped a 15-year-old at gunpoint and raped her. He was placed on South Carolina’s sex offender registry, but told South Carolina residents that it was a trumped-up charge.
