Man And Woman Hear Noise Under Hotel Room Sheets, Disturbed By What They Find

A couple checked into their hotel and when they got to the room and climbed into bed, they heard a crackling noise. What they found under the sheets shocked them.

The couple had just checked into their room at a Courtyard Marriott hotel and were looking forward to getting some rest, according to Mad World News. When they heard the unexpected sound of something underneath the bed’s sheets, they immediately got up to see what was there.

Under the sheets, the couple say they found a note with a disturbing message written on it.

“If you’re reading this, then house keeping did not change your sheets!” the note read.

Horrified by what they found, the couple shared a photo of the note on social media, where it quickly went viral.

Reddit users shared their thoughts on the couple’s discovery, as well as their own stories.

“When I was a housekeeping manager I would go into the vacant rooms before our maids got there and would make a small mark on the sheets with a washable marker someplace not very visible,” one Reddit user commented. “Caught and fired a lot of people for that stuff. It’s more common than you think, unfortunately.”

“This is why I usually strip the bed prior to leaving,” another user wrote. “Sure, they can put the dirty sheets back on, but its just as much work as changing them at that point.”

One user took the opportunity to make a joke: “Next time I stay at a hotel, I’m cutting a hiding spot into the wall of the closet so I can pop out when the next guest is about to go to sleep and cheerfully announce ‘the fact that I’m brandishing this katana means your housekeeper didn’t check the closet carefully enough!'”

“Super gross!!!!” one reader commented. “The people who work in hotels as maids, etc. should know that changing sheets, cleaning bathrooms, etc, are part of their jobs! How can they have ‘failed’ in what their duties are!!! Sick!!! Disgusting!!!”

“This is old but it has made me check the beds,” another user wrote. “I always take my own pillow and a small blanket for around my shoulders. Know they don’t wash the blankets every time and saw on Tv the stuff that shows up under black lite on the spread. This stuff makes me OCD.”
