Shelter Dog Makes It Clear Where He Wants To Live (Photos)
A dog brought to an animal shelter ran away every time he was adopted, so the shelter knew what it had to do: It adopted him.
Gumby is a 7-year-old hound dog that was first taken in by the Charleston Animal Society in South Carolina two years ago.
In the last two years that he has been at CAS, Gumby has been adopted seven different times and has escaped every time. He almost always runs right back to the shelter.
Gumby’s adoptions normally lasted anywhere from three days to three months and usually ended with him making his way back to the shelter or with his adoptive owner bringing him back after giving up on keeping him from escaping, according to Newsiosity.
After Gumby ran back to the CAS 11 times in total, the staff knew what they had to do — they had to adopt Gumby themselves.
Now, Gumby is exactly where he wants to be and the CAS never has to worry about him running away, because there’s nowhere else he’d rather be.
Staff members at the shelter say Gumby has been a treat to have around and does a great job of welcoming new animals and helping them adjust to a new environment, reports HeroViral.
