Scared Little Girl Found Alone In Arizona Desert, Then Police Make 2nd Shocking Discovery

AmericaNow Staff  ·  July 27, 2017

An Arizona man has been arrested after his 10-year-old daughter was stranded in the desert with no shoes or water.

According to the New York post, 28-year-old Christopher Charles Watson has been charged with felony domestic child abuse after his daughter was found alone in the desert, sobbing, in 91-degree heat.

A woman called police on the morning of July 22 after she found the 10-year-old girl walking alone on the asphalt without shoes.

The girl told police that her father drove her to the desert and forced her to get out of the truck. She said that she hit her head on the door handle while getting out of the vehicle and her dad drove away.

The girl complained to police that she had a headache and that her neck was hurting. She was transported to a local medical center for treatment and was later released.

The victim is currently in custody of the Department of Child Safety.

According to KSNV, deputies were dispatched to Watson’s Kingman, Arizona, home. It was noted that Watson, who had just woken up from a nap, smelled of alcohol.

The father told deputies that he and his daughter had gotten into an argument when he told her he wanted to go for a ride. He said that he had done that in the past to calm her down. When the father and daughter arrived in the desert, he grabbed her, dragged her across his lap, and threw her out of the truck.

Watson said that after he dropped his daughter in the desert with no shoes or water, he returned home, waited approximately 15 minutes, and went back to where he left her to pick her back up, but he was unable to find her.

The father was arrested without incident. His 9-year-old son was taken into custody by the Department of Child Safety, as well.

Readers shared their thoughts about the story on the Mad World News Facebook page.

“Take him out into the desert, take his shoes, leave no water & show him how it feels…evidently he thought that was suitable treatment of his own daughter!” one user commented.

“I can’t believe you can do something like this to our own child,” another user wrote. “Lucky for him someone found her before she died from the heat. I don’t know what you could argue with a 10 yr. old that would cause you to do this !”
