Fisherman Hears Strange Cries, Makes Shocking Discovery (Video)

A fisherman became a hero after hearing strange crying along a riverbank — only to discover that a dog was stuck near the water and had been there for days (video below).

A clip of the fisherman and his friends rescuing the poor puppy quickly went viral, garnering over 1.75 million views in about a year.

In the clip, the fisherman and his friends can be seen calling over to the dog, who is trapped along the riverbank with nowhere to go. The dog runs over to their boat and starts walking on a tree branch towards them. 

The fisherman reaches for the dog, but struggles to grab him without falling into the water. Finally, the dog dips slightly into the river and the man is able to pull him by his fur up into the boat.

The video’s uploader later updated viewers on the puppy’s health and whereabouts.

“The dog found a good home. I took him home, cleaned him up and got some food in his belly.  Had some friends looking for a dog that took him in,” the man wrote in a comment on his YouTube clip.

Many viewers praised the men for saving the puppy and ultimately giving him a good home. 

“This story made my day! Glad you guys took the time to rescue this lil dog. He seemed like he was ready to go to. Hope he has a forever home now,” one YouTube viewer commented.

“The puppy was desperate for company. So glad these men rescued him and found him a good home,” another added on Newisosity’s Facebook page.

Others criticized whoever abandoned the dog or let him run free for being so careless and irresponsible.

“WOW.. what a cute puppy. Looks like it has some border collie in it. SEEMS friendly and willing to go to the guys.. young and doesn’t look like it will be a large dog. Thank goodness the guys came along and investigated. NOT sure how the dog got there.. but more than likely.. someone put the dog there. NASTY PEOPLE who do things like that. Should NEVER own dogs if they cant’ take care of them properly,” one viewer commented.
