4 Thugs Invade Man’s Home And Shoot His Dog, Realize Their Big Mistake Too Late

After four masked intruders broke into a Florida couple’s home and injured the family dog, the homeowner immediately jumped into action, leaving the group of criminals immediately regretting what they did.

A man in Summerfield, Florida, shot and killed a home intruder after four suspects broke into his home and injured his dog, according to WKMG.

The homeowner was home with his girlfriend and their dog when they say they heard intruders enter their house. Police say they barricaded themselves in a room, but one intruder tried to enter the room. The victim’s dog reportedly ran out of the room toward the intruders.

“I just heard my back door get kicked in and next thing I know, my dog ran out and I heard a gunshot,” the homeowner said. “And the next thing I know, a guy was meeting me at my door with a gun, stuck the gun in the door. I slammed the door and the gun just started going off.”

The man knew he had to take action immediately.

“My girlfriend was in the closet at the time and I yelled at her,” he recalled. “I said, ‘Throw my my shotgun.’ She threw the shotgun at me like in the movies and I caught and I fired one time, and I guess it hit the guy in the chest or whatever.”

The suspects fled the scene and the intruder who was shot was reportedly dropped off outside a local emergency room, where he was later pronounced dead. The alleged intruder was later identified as 32-year-old Shawn King.

Police have not confirmed whether the homeowner or his girlfriend were injured, but he told WKMG he had not been hit by any bullets.

“I don’t know how I didn’t get shot,” he said.

The man’s dog, Zeus, is currently recovering after being shot in the head by the intruders.

The homeowner says he now has to find a new place to live following the incident.

“Now I have to move out of my house,” he said. “My girl, my roommate, they won’t even come here.”

The investigation is ongoing.

Readers shared their thoughts on the story on the Mad World News Facebook page.

“Another great example of why people own guns,” one reader commented. “Law enforcement can’t be everywhere to immediately protect everyone. Had this man not had his gun, there would be two dead people, and the thugs would move on to the next victims.”

“Dog did his best, but imagine if he didn’t have a shotgun, empty handed?” another user wrote. “There would have been more damage and worse. This is why guns in the right hands belong , to defend family and love ones. The saying is: either you or them? The good or the bad?”
