‘Horrible Job’: Trump Slams Obama’s Work As President

Presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump blasted President Barack Obama after he said foreign leaders are rattled by the prospect that the New York billionaire could be the next president of the U.S.

Obama said at the Group of Seven nations summit in Japan on May 26 that the leaders of those countries “are not sure how seriously to take some of his pronouncements, but they are rattled by them,” according to Reuters.

When asked for a response by reporters, Trump didn’t hesitate to answer with his usual bravado.

“He used a bad word because he knows nothing about business,” Trump said at a press conference in Bismarck, North Dakota, on May 26, according to Fox News.

“When you ‘rattle’ someone, that’s good because …. many of the countries in our world, our beautiful world, have been absolutely abusing us and taking advantage of us,” Trump continued. “So, if they’re rattled in a friendly way, we’re going to have great relationships with these countries.”

But Obama also harshly criticized Trump’s knowledge of foreign affairs and questioned his tactics of communications.

“…A lot of the proposals [Trump] has made display either ignorance of world affairs or a cavalier attitude, or an interest in getting tweets and headlines, instead of actually thinking through what it is that is required to keep America safe, secure and prosperous and the world on an even keel,” Obama said, according to Reuters.

“He’s a president who’s done a horrible job,” Trump said when asked to respond to the president’s comments. “Everybody understands that. He’s a president who’s allowed many of these countries to totally take advantage of him and us, unfortunately … And it’s unusual that every time he has a press conference, he’s talking about me.”

Trump then criticized Obama for speaking about domestic affairs and political races abroad, usually a taboo subject for sitting U.S. presidents visiting foreign countries.

“He is a man who shouldn’t be … airing his difficulties, and he shouldn’t be airing what he’s airing where he is right now,” Trump said. “And I think you’re going to see it stop pretty soon.”
