Black Man Approaches Cop, Viewers Stunned When He Responds With A Lesson He Won’t Forget

Two police officers were talking to each other when a man came over to them with an odd request. A photo of their interaction is going viral.

Officer Carper and Sgt. Marshall of the St. Louis County Police Department in Missouri were talking on the sidewalk when a man walked up to them with a surprising request.

The man, who was later identified only as “Willie,” approached the officers and asked if one of them would be able to help him tie his tie, according to Mad World News.

Marshall volunteered to help out and, as the officers started talking to Willie, they learned he was dressed up that day for a job interview.

The police department later shared an update on its Facebook page announcing that Willie had gotten the job, thanks in small part to the help from the officers.

Readers were touched by the photo and shared their thoughts on the Mad World News Facebook page.

“So nice!” one reader commented. “Congrats Willie on your new job! Thanks officers for being so nice and helping Willie! This type of stuff happens all the time and normally is never reported because it is not sensational enough. Please remember that the vast majority if people regardless of race are decent people in this country.”

“I love these stories!!” another user wrote. “Reminds me there are a lot of great people in this Country!! All lives matter, black, white, blue etc… We need to stand together and stop all of the hate . Glad you got the job, good luck and God bless you.”

Before the police department announced that Willie had gotten the job, a number of Facebook users wished Willie good luck for his job interview.

“Hoping he got the job!” one user shared. “Thanks County for showing your commitment to the citizens in your community! I’m definitely sharing this love in this time of so much hate!”

“Good luck!!!” another wrote. “I’m not sure why this is funny to anyone. A man has an interview to better himself and his family and just needed a little help. Absolutely no shame in asking for help. Thank you to the officer for assisting!”

“Simple task like this is a daily thing for our community,” another user added. “So sad that the country doesn’t see this type of stuff that happens all the time. Like most I hope this man had a good interview and thank you officer..”
