Man Defends Decision To Shoot Rattlesnake (Photos)

In defense of his decision to shoot and kill a rattlesnake, a man shared his own horror story on Facebook along with some graphic photos to make his point.

Kevin Fowler uploaded photos to Facebook showing what happened when a friend was once bitten by a rattlesnake, and he described the encounter in the post.

According to Your Nation News, Fowler regularly finds rattlesnakes in his shed and, after witnessing what his friend went through following a rattlesnake bite, decided he would shoot them on sight to avoid any trouble.

Fowler’s post included two graphic photos of his friend’s hands after being bitten by a rattlesnake, plus one picture of a dead snake.

The Facebook post got mixed responses, with some supporting Fowler’s decision, while others believe that the snakes do not deserve to be killed.

Reptile specialist Jennifer Houha, of the American International Rattlesnake Museum, says that snakes are more afraid of humans than humans are of snakes, and that the reptiles will try to get away from people at all costs. However, she did note that only professionals are able to determine whether or not a rattlesnake’s bite will be dry, so it is best to avoid any contact with a rattlesnake.

Rattlesnake venom is toxic and can cause serious damage to the skin, blood cells, and the circulatory system.
