Man Sees What Vet Is Doing At Restaurant, Calls Manager (Photo)
A Georgia man was out to eat with his mother when he noticed a veteran sitting at a nearby booth. He saw what the veteran was doing and called the manager over to talk to him about what he was witnessing.
According to Mad World News, a man identified only as C. Sparks was eating at Texas Roadhouse in Savannah, Georgia, when he noticed an older man with long gray hair and a big beard greeting every customer who walked in the door. He noticed that the man had patches on his jacket signifying that he was a veteran.
Sparks was touched by the vet’s cheerful demeanor and wanted to pay it forward, so when he saw the same man eating later, he decided that he wanted to pay for the man’s meal. He was surprised by what the manager told him next, though.

Last evening, my mom and I were walking into Texas Roadhouse in Savanah, GA. when we noticed a man sitting on the outside patio. He had long hair, a long gray beard, and was wearing a jacket with war vet badges. With every person who walked into the restaurant, he very kindly said ‘hi, how are you all tonight?’ or ‘bye, I hope you have a good night.’ Most people reacted to him, others completely ignored him. That didn’t stop him from greeting every person who walked by. When we sat down at our booth, the same man was sitting across from us eating his meal, smiling at everyone around him. The young waiter in the photo had all the patience in the world, he stopped to talk to this man, smiled and laughed with him and listened to stories about his life. My mom and I flagged the manager down and told him we wanted to pay for this kind man’s meal when he proudly said: “Ma’am, someone else already has.” Everyone in the section grinned when the waiter told him that his meal was covered. The man then left, telling everyone on the way out that he hoped they had a good night.
Many readers were touched by the story and share their thoughts on the Facebook post.
“We need to watch out for our Vets. Be kind to them,” one user wrote. “They have had alot on their shoulders. Alot of them end up divorced because they are away alot. They get no help from the government like they should and they put their lives on the line for us. They are hurting inside and their dreams are nightmares. Be kind and recognize that they are still humans.”
“God watch over this man he is a kind soul. He put his life on the line for all of us,” another reader commented. “He is a true Vet. Ppl should not ignore others they don’t know there situations and should not judge. Be kind to one another bc some of the nice guys aren’t so nice. God bless. Amen.”
