Man Teaches Selfish Parkers A Lesson (Video)
A Chicago man became so fed up with the behavior of drivers in his neighborhood that he decided to get back at them in the most ingenious way (video below).
Dale Tippett Jr. was sick of drivers blocking the driveway to his church’s parking lot, leaving their vehicles to go to Starbucks.
So Tippett Jr. filmed himself teaching a selfish driver a lesson and posted the video to YouTube, according to American Web Media.
The clip starts off when Tippett Jr. sees a car parked in the church’s driveway. He goes into his home and comes out with a wooden chair, plopping it right in front of the offender’s SUV.
Tippett Jr. sits down in the chair and makes himself comfortable, even reading a book. Finally, the vehicle’s owner comes out of Starbucks, coffee in hand, and sees Tippett Jr. in the chair.
The man does nothing for a while and the awkward situation continues to build up. Knowing that he’s in the wrong, the driver appears to be afraid of confrontation.
Eventually “Turkey-dog”, as he’s called in the video, realizes he’s late and asks Tippett Jr. to move.
“I’ll just be a minute,” Tippett Jr. tells him.
In the end, Tippett Jr. lectures the driver and anyone else who attempts to park there about how selfish it is to block the driveway of the church.
It prevents handicapped drivers from parking and could put lives at risk were there an emergency.
Tippett Jr. writes, “I know I’m being obnoxious here, but at least I’M getting a chuckle out of it.”
The video has garnered over 1.5 million views, many in support of Tippett Jr.’s act.
One user comments:
“I went to get groceries a few weeks ago, and as I was walking towards the store, I saw a man in a car with an accessible parking plate stopped behind the car of a woman who was parked in the accessible parking and waiting for someone. He asked the woman to move her car, and she told him she was waiting for someone and the person inside would only be a few minutes. So he parked his car behind her, got out of his car and into his wheelchair, and started to go inside the store. She said, “Wait, you’re blocking me in!” To which he replied, ‘Oh, it’s okay, I’ll only be a few minutes.’”
