Maryland Thugs Try To Rob Irish Pub, Immediately Regret It When They See Who’s Inside
Two Maryland robbers got the shock of their lives when they walked into an Irish pub they tried to rob and encountered a group of off-duty police officers having a party.
The two armed suspects reportedly entered Monaghan’s Irish Pub in Woodlawn, Maryland, and ran into a group of officers having a retirement party.
“I’m sure that they weren’t planning on there being a large room filled with police officers,” Baltimore County officer Jennifer Peach told WBAL.
The two men reportedly came in through the take-out area of the establishment and held and employee at gunpoint.
“At that time, the person who had been behind the counter knew that there was a retirement party for a police officer happening, so they went into the other portion and alerted the officers to the fact that they had just been involved in an armed robbery,” Peach said.
The suspects fled, but didn’t get far before some of the officers apprehended them and took them into custody.
Nobody was injured in the armed robbery, and police did not disclose how much 21-year-ol Joseph Mcinnes III and 22-year-old Tyree McCoy got away with. Both were charged with armed robbery and possession of a handgun.
“Picked wrong place u get the punishment.Totally deserve everything u got,” one Mad World News reader commented on the site’s Facebook page “Maybe u won’t rob anywhere else.”
“Obviously not the sharpest knives in the drawer! Hope they get what’s coming to them and maybe have “Come To Jesus Moment before deciding to take what doesn’t belong to them again!” another wrote.
“I remember once in the Chicago area a couple came into a bar to rob patrons only to find it mainly occupied by a Karate class relaxing after their workout. Did not end well for that couple either,” another added.
In a similar incident, three men were arrested and charged for robbing a pub in Nottingham, England. Liam Campbell, Nathaniel Smith and Steven Ward were all charged with robbery, while Campbell and Ward were also charged with possession of an offensive weapon.
The three men subsequently appeared in court after robbing the Ferry Boat Inn around 12:15 a.m. on the night of the incident.
“They appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court this morning (Wednesday 30 August), and were remanded in custody to appear at Nottingham Crown Court on 27 September 2017,” a police spokesman said, Nottingham Post reported.
