Military Mother Shocked By Note Left On Her Windshield (Photo)
An Arizona mother received a touching surprise after a kind stranger noticed an Army sticker on her car.
Jodi St. Clair knows a lot about the stress of being a military mother. Her son Jacob, 22, is serving in South Korea, while her younger son Daniel, 20, is stationed in North Carolina.
St. Clair and her husband honor their sons everywhere they go with stickers on the back of their van that read, “My sons defend our freedom,” and “Proud parent of a soldier.” The parents have received plenty of comments, both positive and negative, from strangers because of the stickers.
One day, when Jodi was leaving the hair salon where she works, she noticed somebody had left something on her windshield. She initially assumed it was a business flyer, but was surprised when she saw what it really was.
A stranger had left a touching note to the military mother and enclosed inside was a $20 bill, reports Fox News.
The note explained everything:
Dear “Proud Parent:”
Please either send this $20 to your Army Soldier for a meal. If he/she is in the Middle East, either use it to buy a care or comfort kit, or save it for his/her return.
I pray for our military around the world every night, especially those serving in dangerous areas or in one of our wars.
Godspeed,
Shelley
The mother was brought to tears by the stranger’s generous actions. Now, she is looking to find Shelley so that she can thank her in person.
St. Clair says that being the mother of a soldier can be stressful and that little gestures like this can make the most difficult days a little bit easier.
